Down 32 lbs!

What a beautiful weekend in Texas! I had a busy weekend with very little time to sit around the house. Friday night, Holly and I went to walk at our local park. We walked for an hour walking 3 miles and my HRM said I burned 350 calories. I guess I had not totally recovered from the work out the night before, because I was not moving too fast. Every time we walk, we always talk about what we are cooking for dinner. Holly has a way of making it sound soo good that I always want to go home and cook what she is going to cook. Well Friday night, Holly was not planning on cooking, and since her son and my husband tagged along to hang out at the park while we walked, we all decided to go eat at our local Mexican restaurant. I did not do great, but I could have done a lot worse. I ordered the lite plate which was one cheese enchilada, rice, and beans. I guess the trick they taught me at weight watchers worked because Holly ordered the same thing instead of getting a higher in calorie selection. Our meal took a long time. I think our table went through at least 4 baskets of chips. Thankfully, I received a work phone call and missed out on a couple of them. My husband said dessert was at home. He said he picked up a couple of slices of pie at the grocery store that were Sugar Free. He bought both of us a slice which I thought was pretty awesome. He could have easily bought me the Sugar Free and him the regular one. So 1 pt for Chuck. As I usually do before I could even think about eating the pie, I flipped it over and checked the calories. 300, but as I pointed out to him. The retailer was trying to trick us. What a normal person would consider one slice, the nutrition label claimed it was two servings. Although I was disappointed at the high calories, I went for it and ate 1/2 of one of the slices. Yeah, still 300 calories but it was soooo good and as Cat says 1/2 the calories.

Saturday morning, I got up and cooked breakfast tequitos on whole wheat tortillas. My two tequitos consisted of 1/2 egg on each, very little 2% shredded cheese, and a touch of Jenny-O Turkey Sausage. Very good and filling. We headed to Dallas to see a new baby born in the family. He was so precious. I have been WANTING some Chipolte, so that is what we had for dinner. I know I went a little over my points but I have been craving this for sometime. I did decide to get the burrito bowl instead of eating the extra calories from the tortilla. It filled my craving and I should be good for at least another month or so. : ) We were supposed to go work out at the gym, but the devil took over and I traded the gym for a night at the casino. The only exercise I got for the evening beside my hand on the slot machine, was the stairs from the parking garage into the casino. There was a long stairway in between two beautiful escalators. I ended up running up the stairs two different times before the night was done and would have done it more if my family was not ready to go. I don't remember seeing another person on those stairs all evening, besides my cousin Amy who did it once with me.

Sunday, since it was beautiful, I met my friend Lola at a trail in Waxahachie and we walked 4 miles! YAY! I was determined to walk 4 miles and I think since we had so far to go, I was walking faster than usual. Then on the way back, Lola's friend called and said she did not see Lola son at the park. Well the adrenalin sunk in and we were booking. Of course her more than me. I had to stop once because my toes were SCREAMING! We did the 4 miles in a little over an hour and I was shocked when I looked at my HRM watch. I burned over 600 calories! That was awesome! I only ate Subway and fruit for the rest of the day.

Today was weigh-in at Weight Watchers and I really considered not going because my scale at home did not look like I was going to have a loss and ALL my buddy's were not going. Three of my co-workers and one friend all cancelled out on me on the same night. Last week our meeting was on the importance of coming to the meetings so we can get the encouragement from each other, a little advice, etc. I totally agree with our instructor, I need that. So I went to the meeting, and I am so glad I did. I had a LOSS. 1.5 lbs to be exact. I have now lost 32 lbs. I am 16.5 lbs to meet the weight I would like to be before I head to the Biggest Loser Resort in one day shy of 7 weeks. It's going to be hard, but I CAN DO THIS!!!

  2. Congrats on the 1.5 pounds. Yes you can do it! 7 weeks is a good amount of time to reach your goal..or come really close. I believe I will be a pound shy of my goal which has been the way I have been all along. But I am not complaining as I am sure you are not! It is awesome that you didn't let you friends dictate you to also miss the meeting...support is awesome and helps in so many circumstances. Keep up the good work! You are getting it done!! (hugs)

  3. Don't you hate those 'sugar free,' 'fat free,' carb free' scams?? Every time I see those big bold letters I say to myself... "ok... what's the catch?" Good for you for catching these sneaky retailers. Serving size: 1/2 a slice?? Who eats half a slice of delicious pie?? lol
